Let's be fair

I think it is a little unfair to make large, sweeping generalizations about everyone and anyone who opposes this or that policy or government initiative. It's also unfair to label everyone who disagrees as racist or xenophobic. I am not opposed to permitting refugees or immigration or foreign aid. I recognize that we are all members of the human family and we have a duty to help those in need, whoever they might be. That said, there are legitimate concerns that a great number of Canadians have about the current refugee initiative. And it doesn't, or at least it shouldn't, have anything to do with race or religion, per se. It has to do with what has happened in Europe. This isn't conservative rhetoric or fear mongering. This is real. There really are whole neighbourhoods radicalized where the police are afraid to go. There are groups within the country attempting to introduce sharia law and sharia police into the governments. There really are terrorist cells operating safely within these borders. And it's also true that many of these individuals are in these nations via similar refugee and immigration initiatives. Of course it's true that most of these refugees won't contribute to this. But it is simply not fair to disregard the opinions of a huge portion of your fellow citizens over these very real concerns, label them all racists so their opinion is disregarded without a hearing. We must do both. We must help our fellow humans in need while simultaneously getting a handle on this problem. its not either/or. We must figure out a way to do both. And if that's racist, well we must have to agree to disagree about the definition of the term "racism".

Phone numbers to help!

I would like one place that has phone numbers to organization that are assisting our new citizens. I have a lot of kids clothing that I'd like to donate and can't find who to call. Any help would be great! Thanks.

Yes! Welcome to Windsor and Canada!!

I am so happy to see this article. I can't believe how many family and friends have been criticle and angry that our government is allowing refugees inro the country, let alone Windsor. This article supports everything I have been trying to point out to the people with such prejudices.
