Once a month, Windsor Scene columnist Jamie Greer will be hosting a special showcase featuring one band. He will MC/host/moderate the event. This combines with a one-off art show, curated by local artist Christy Litster.
Show runs as follows:
1) Jamie will introduce the band with a short introduction. The band then performs 4 songs in the style of VH1 Storytellers. They may be done acoustically or stripped down (preferably) or full band style. But before each song, he'll be asking questions about the songwriting or story behind said song or stories from the studio, etc.
2) After the initial 4 song storytelling session, there will be a 20 minute or so interview, conducted by Greer with the entire band, in front of the audience. He'll ask questions about the organics of the band, history, etc. Maybe at the end of that, we'll answer a question or 2 from the audience
3) Then the full band rocks out another 8-10 songs without interruption to close out the show with a shortened set.
The idea is to showcase one particular band each of these, and bring their story and song closer to their audience.
The Windsor Scene is proud to announce that local indie rock instrumentalists WHAT SEAS WHAT SHORES will be our January guest, with local artists Reannon Price and MR. upstairs displaying and selling their art!
Doors at 9pm with a $5 recommended donation to the band.
UPSTAIRS: Local artists and artisans will be showing art and items crafted right here in Windsor-Essex!
